Your items support families

Usable donations are directed to families, community partners or responsible reuse routes.

Before you start

Please check your items can be collected

To keep collections safe and useful, donated items need to meet simple quality, safety and access standards.

Items are clean and usable

Please only offer items that are complete, working, clean and suitable for another household to use.

  • No heavy staining, strong odours, damp or pest damage.
  • Electrical items should be safe, working and include essential leads or parts.
  • Furniture should be stable, complete and ready to move safely.
Upholstered items have safety labels

Sofas, armchairs, padded dining chairs and mattresses may need a clear fire safety label before they can be accepted.

  • Check labels are attached and readable before requesting collection.
  • Avoid offering upholstered items with exposed inner fabric or serious tears.
Access is safe for the collection team

Collections work best when items are easy to reach and our team can park or load safely.

  • Tell us about stairs, lifts, narrow hallways, parking limits or building access.
  • An adult must be present unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.
Items we cannot collect

For safety, legal and practical reasons, some donations cannot be accepted through home collection.

  • Hazardous materials, chemicals, weapons or flammable liquids.
  • Broken, incomplete or unsafe electrical goods.
  • Personal safety equipment, used personal items, cots, prams or heavily damaged furniture.

Please review before requesting a collection.

These terms help protect donors, our team and the communities who receive support through donated goods.

Adult required
The donor must be over 18 and able to make an informed decision about the items being offered.
Safety and access
Please provide safe access to the property, clear collection notes and any information that may affect parking, lifting or loading.
Quality and ownership
By requesting a collection, you confirm that you own the items or have permission to donate them. We may decline items that are unsafe or unsuitable.
Damaged items
We take care during collections, but you should highlight fragile areas, tight access and any property concerns before the team begins.
Agreed collection date
Collection dates depend on route capacity and may need to change if operational issues arise. We will contact you as soon as possible if this happens.
Keeping your details safe
We only use the personal details you provide to review your request, contact you and arrange the collection.
Cancelling or rearranging
If you need to change or cancel a collection, please contact us as early as possible so the slot can be offered to another donor.

Not suitable for collection?

Smaller items, clothing, books and mixed household donations may still be useful. Contact us and we will help you find the right way to give.
